The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has recommended the partial lifting of the deployment ban to Iraq amid its volatile security situation, saying some parts of the country are safe for Filipino workers.

Foreign Affairs spokesman Raul Hernandez on Tuesday said the department has proposed to the state deployment agency, the Philippine Overseas Em-ployment Administration, that the ban be lifted for the Kurdistan region, an autonomous region of Iraq, in response to its growing foreign labor demand.

MANILA, Philippines - The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) joined forces yesterday to combat human trafficking in the country as they signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that will make KBP help in the government’s awareness and education campaign.

IACAT chairperson Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and KBP chairman Herman Basbano led the MOA signing at the Hyatt Hotel in Manila yesterday.

Kinilala ni PNP-CIDG Chief P/Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr., ang mga nasakoteng suspek na sina Celia Corpuz, 55, ng Cubao, Quezon City at Lolita Etchorre, 62, ng Pasig City.
