IACAT Cites DBM Support

The Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) recently lauded the "all-out support" by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) to the government's campaign against human trafficking.

Department of Justice (DoJ) Undersecretary Jose Vicente Salazar, IACAT head, said the DBM's support "further underscores the resolve of the present Administration to render the human trafficking menace a fatal blow".

3 Pinays Killed In Doha Fire Had Tourist Visas

THE Overseas Workers Welfare Administration confirmed yesterday that the three Filipinas who perished in the fire at the Villagio Mall in Doha, Qatar were all undocumented overseas Filipino workers. 

OWWA chief Carmelita Dimzon said that Margie Yecyec, Maribel Orosco-Aban and Julie Ann Soco, all of them  pre-school teachers,  presented  themselves during their departure at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport  as tourists to be allowed to go abroad.

Cops Rescue 22 Women Victims Of Trafficking

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna—Police rescued 22 victims of human trafficking in operations in Calamba City.

All of the victims were women and five were minors, according to a member of the police Women and Children Protection Division (WCPD) of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
