24 OFWs To Come Home

TWENTY-FOUR more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are expected to return to the country from strife-torn Syria today, the Department of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement. With this most recent batch of OFWs evacuated by the Philippine embassy in Damascus, the total number of repatriates from Syria will now be 1,267, the department said. The crisis alert declared by the Philippine government for Syria has been on Level 4 since December last year in view of the rising violence between the Syrian government and local opposition forces.
