JUSTICE Secretary Leila de Lima yesterday said the case against 16 officials of the Bureau ofImmigration accused of facilitating the trafficking of overseas Filipino workers to war-torn Syria is now deemed submitted for resolution.
De Lima had directed the BI officials to answer within 72 hours the charges against them and explain why they should not be slapped with administrative charges.
As of De Lima’s last press briefing on Wednesday, the officials had not responded.
“Wala pa akong nakikita kung nakapag-submit na sila ng paliwanag. The administrative case will be deemed submitted for resolution without their compliance,” De Lima told reporters in a chance interview.
De Lima had directed the immigration officers, who are stationed at the Ninoy AquinoInternational Airport (NAIA) 1, 2, and 3 and Clark International Airport, to submit their written explanations.
