As of September 15, 2012, a total of 13,129 calls were received and 186 actual cases have been served by the 1343 Action Line on Human Trafficking. Most of these are illegal recruitment cases (30.6%) followed closely by human trafficking cases (29.6%). Around 3.0 percent of the reported cases were on mail order brides while the remaining 36.6 percent were for other human trafficking-related violations.
The CFO, having been appointed as chair of the Advocacy and Communications Committee of the Inter-Agency Council Against Human Trafficking (IACAT), established the 24/7 phone-based 1343 Action Line and recently the website www.1343actionline.ph to address the gap in services of the different government agencies and non-government organizations in assisting victims of human trafficking.
