The Department of Foreign Affairs announced the arrival of a batch of 54 distressed Filipinos from Lebanon after being repatriated by the Philippine Embassy in Beirut.

The Filipino arrived in Manila Tuesday morning aboard GUlf Air flight GF 154 from Bahrain and were compromised of 49 wards from the Philippine Embassy shelter while the remaining 5 individuals were detainees of the Lebanese immigration authorities.

A SECURITY guard of the Masbate Electric Cooperative (Maselco) was charged with human trafficking at the Masbate City Prosecutor’s Office on Friday for allegedly forcing two female minors to join him and a companion in a drinking binge inside the Maselco compound.

THE government continues to repatriate stranded, distressed and displaced overseas Filipino workers, most of them undocumented, from Lebanon

Around 10:10 a.m.,  Gulf Air flight GF 154 touched down at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport with the 54 abused and maltreated returning Filipino workers.

Most of them were penniless and,  instead of valuables, gave sad tales of their horrible experiences  to their families and loved ones who met them at the arrival area of the premier airport.
