DUMAGUETE CITY, June 28 (PIA) -- The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) warned Filipino women on the dangers posed by intermarriages or marriage to foreigners, as human trafficking has been identified as one of the critical issues resulting from it especially under the mail order bride scheme.
Based on records from CFO, women comprise 49 percent of global immigrants.

CEBU CITY, June 28 (PIA) -- Immigrants and fiancees or spouses of foreigners are encouraged to avail of the free orientation seminars conducted by the Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO) prior to their departure.
Aileen Macapili, CFO Extension Office information officer, said Cebuanos who are planning to or about to leave the country either as immigrant or as fiancee or spouse of a foreign national should avail of CFO's free services to help them adjust to their new lives abroad.

Police raided a house in Bacoor, near Manila, on Wednesday following a tip-off from a government agency that documented complaints by earlier victims, said Chief Superintendent Reginald Villasanta.
"We have rescued 29 (Filipinas) who were duped into promises of an instant wealthy life through marriage with Korean gentlemen," Villasanta, head of a police organised crime task force, said in a statement.
